OPEN CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2022 VIETNAM HUMAN RIGHTS AWARD
The Vietnam Human Rights Network (VNHRN) will be accepting nominations for the 2022 Vietnam Human Rights Award (VNHRA) from now until September 30, 2022. The VNHRN established VNHRA in 2002 and has awarded it annually to individuals or organizations in Vietnam who have distinguished contributions to protecting and promoting human rights. The VNHRA is also an opportunity for the Vietnamese in Diaspora to express solidarity with and support to those involved in the relentless fighting for fundamental rights and justice for the Vietnamese people. Since its establishment, the VNHRA has been presented to 53 individuals and five organizations in Vietnam. Last year, the VNHRA was given to Mrs. Can Thi Theu’s family, including Mrs. Can Thi Theu and her two sons Trinh Ba Phuong and Trinh Ba Tu; the environmental activist Dinh Thi Thu Thuy; and the prisoner of conscience Nguyen Van Tuc. The VNHRN looks forward to receiving many worthy nominations from organizations and individuals in Vietnam and abroad. The selection results will be officially announced in the mid of November 2022.
